Creation, development and progress of any organization, more so when it is established for philanthropic cause, rests with the Board of Trustees. Founder Trustees of Baroda District Eye Relief and Health Association were a group of selfless and dedicated eminent personalities of the society gathered to channelise the updated system of eye care technology to the last person of the community

Inspired and advised by Pujya Ravishankar Maharaj, revered Saint of Gujarat Sheth Manilal Lalubhai Shah donated a handsome amount to build an Eye Hospital. Ravishankar Maharaj who blessed a small charitable hospital to grow into a renowned and leading Ophthalmic Super Specialty Institution, became the first founder president of the trust.

Dr. Thakorbhai V. Patel, a leading citizen and former Mayor of Baroda and Minister Health and Panchayat , Government of Gujarat succeeded. Ravishankar Maharaj as next President who, with his dynamic and vision oriented leadership engineered the progress for about three decades placing the Institute on national and international map.

The Board of Trustees continuously monitor the functioning of the Eye Institute and charitable eye hospital and carve out policies to extend eye care facilities to maximum number of patients to their utmost satisfaction.
